Further along the bay, in a sheltered position near the site of the ruined Roman town of Lydae, is the picturesque and exclusive yachting centre of Gocek, much favoured by Prince Charles and the elite of the yachting world. The public and secluded private marinas have berths for over 500 boats.
A luxurious hotel and prestigious property developments compliment the up-market atmosphere and yet Gocek still manages to retain its Turkish charm. The Sunday Market is very popular and many holiday makers travel across the bay by ferry from Fethiye.
