Scores of bars and restaurants line the harbour and narrow streets, offering entertainment and international cuisine to suit all tastes and budgets. Bargains galore can be found in the bazaars and at the huge market held every Tuesday. There is an immense choice of tempting and colourful goods on offer - leather-goods, fine jewellery, textiles, metal-ware, Turkish carpets and kilims, Turkish Delight, locally produced honey, spices & delicacies to name just a few. Most tradesmen speak good English and bargaining with them is all part of the Turkish experience With the exception of the some market stalls and small shops, foreign currency and credit cards are readily accepted.

Dozens of pleasure craft, moored in the busy harbour, offer full-day and half-day cruises to the many islands, coves and nearby resorts. Fethiye is one of Turkey’s foremost areas for scuba diving. Horse riding in the hillside above the town, organised tours and jeep safaris allow you to explore the numerous places of interest in this historic and fascinating countryside. The region is littered with ancient Roman and Lycean ruins, tombs and geological wonders such as Saklikent Gorge where waterfalls cascading down the steep cliffs feed the torrent below and where, at restaurants at the bottom of the gorge, you can dine on trout from the many trout farms.
